What happens with disruptive ideas in L&D?
In a year or so, they all go wherever the snow goes in summer ☃️🌞
Some of them have been completely wiped out of the L&D vocabulary (gamification… anyone?).
Some still resonate (microlearning, content curation), but they merely help our industry evolve rather than shake it and turn it upside down (which is the least I would expect from the term “disruptive”).
So, is AI going to disrupt the way we work?
Based on historical learnings – no.
However, I wouldn’t dare to simply ignore it. From what we’ve seen so far, it has a good chance of having a significant effect on our work.
Perhaps, in a few years, we will look back on a timeline like this, and it will stand out more than it does now.
What do you think? Is it going to be different this time?
