Chat GPT can generate great multiple-choice questions, but you need to tell it exactly what to do.
Here’s how:
In my experience with the AI, the prompts need to contain:
→ the rules for writing good multiple-choice questions,
→ instructions on how to write the question, the answer, and the distractors,
→ examples of good and bad multiple-choice questions.
In the comments, you will find the prompt that is very similar to the one being used by JollyDeck AI Copilot when it generates multiple-choice questions within the JollyDeck Create.
Paste it to your favourite LLM, add the content, and check the results.
This prompt has been tested with the Chat GPT-4 model, but you can use it with any other LLM; just take the output with a grain of salt.
Let me know if you find it useful. We have plenty of similar prompts on the menu, and I’m happy to share them.
(P.S. AI Copilot in JollyDeck Create can help you with much more than generating multiple-choice questions, and you don’t need to feed it with prompts. Ping me for a quick guided tour.)
