Don’t use AI like a slot machine.
Use this approach instead:
AI knows a lot of things. What it doesn’t know is the context of your problem. It may also lack some information about the nature of your problem (especially if it’s related to know-how that’s not publicly available).
There are three strategies for doing that:
1. Provide all the information you think is relevant in one long mega prompt. This used to be the old-school way of doing things.
2. If you’re working with ChatGPT (or a similar chatting agent), you might choose to reach the destination by taking smaller steps. Give it a simple task, wait for the response, and take the next step from there. Continue chatting until you’re happy with the result.
3. Use a specialised tool for the job. Such tools have been built with the awareness that they don’t possess all the knowledge about your problem and will guide you through the process of acquiring the information needed to finish the job.
One such tool is JollyDeck Copilot. The Copilot can build the whole course for you, but rather than writing the whole course by itself, it guides you through the phases of course development, gives you ideas, and requires your feedback.
You don’t have to deal with writing instructions on what needs to be done. Instead, you can focus on the most important thing – the content.
